Objective

A design and development team directed by Jones Sonter identified an opportunity to develop the sites surrounding Rockdale Station in conjunction with the air rights above the rail corridor.

Outcome

• An urban design for a large public plaza above the rail corridor
• Reconfigured rail station and ticketing
• Redevelopment of the sites surrounding the station
• Mixed uses with retail, commercial and residential
• Building volumes that maximise the development potential available under the flight surfaces envelope
