Objective

On the edge of newly created public parkland in Wallsend, the aim of the design for this Residential Aged Care Facility is to maximise the advantages of a park side environment for the enjoyment of the residents.

Outcome

• Elevated above the park level to allow for optimum outlook from all residential floors
• Designed to provide for a three-stage construction program
• Independent staff and resident circulation for hotel-style functional efficiency
• Standard, high-care and dementia wings totalling 90 beds in all
• Oriented for both views and solar amenity
