Objective

As part of the Federal Government’s BER initiative, this small private school in Sydney’s northern suburbs identified the need for a multi-purpose hall. Jones Sonter was engaged to design a hall on a limited budget which offered potential for extension in the future.

Outcome

• A building with a distinctive identity and strong presence responding to its location amongst the school playing fields
• An entry configuration which doubles as an outdoor tiered assembly space
• Necessity for piled footings used as an opportunity to elevate the hall for minimum additional cost, thus providing space for future expansion at ground level.
